From Dating to Bidai…..

I am Kajal Dave and here I am with my first blog on sharing my perspective on Bidai.

The other day I was attending one marriage and was observing the scenario of Bidai. As we know that during Bidai the bride meets her family and dear ones and with a heavy heart she decides to move forward in her life to start her new journey with her husband.

What enriches this experience is that this emotions are not only limited to bride. All family members experiences different emotions… The sister will miss teasing her elder sister, father will no longer be able to pamper her with her favorite food and surprises and the mother will have no idea what to cook when her favorite daughter is going to other home.

In midst of all these the Bride still cries and may be wondering how is she going to adjust with her new home.At that moment the groom holds her hand and she feels secured. Feeling secured that she is not alone in this journey. Feeling secured that when tough situations comes she has her partner’s support.

This feeling of security and connection one should focus on finding during the courtship before getting married. This could be one of the important quality to look out for while selecting a partner for marriage. While choosing partner for marriage we often get stuck on what qualities matters more to us. Is it about the physical attractiveness, financial condition, whether he has his own home, is he ready to have a nuclear family and many more….But little less we think about how he is going to support you when it comes to crisis. How he is when it comes to comforting you or being patient with you.

One can make use of this dating period as an important opportunity to know about each other and going beyond materialistic life. As we all say that click should happen then only are we ready for marriage.. To me click means having someone’s back.
